Looks like pretty good odds to me.

The draw results for our unit last year was 100 percent. Hope the same this year. I've got a real good friend that lives in gillette that is a retired elk and mule deer guide. We saw tons on goats last time we were there hunting deer.

Just came back from Craig, Colo. I have never seen it as green as it is now, and the numbers of antelope and especially bucks was unprecedented. From Baggs to Wamsutter, and over to Red Desert was simply amazing. Good luck to anyone with a tag in those areas.

hunted pronghorn last year but we missed on the deer draw.

                  Pref points only this year

We are sitting pretty right now on moisture, areas without winter kill will be great hunting. We were up towards Casper yesterday for a machinegun shoot and drove through Shirley Basin and Bates Hole. Very green and lots of ground water. The Basin antelope are down due to wintekill but Bates Hole looked great. Last year we saw many rattlesnakes on the road this year none, too cool.

How do you think the year is looking for elk around the Gros Ventre Wilderness area?
