Hunting on a friend of my son place in San Angelo and could shoot doe and a few target crab claw 8s that they wanted off. One of them came in this morning and my son was able to get a shot. Arrow didn’t pass thru so we went and got my dog just to be sure. Easy track for her of about 80 yds. Arrow deflected off rib and was barely poking out other side.
This evening had a bunch of doe and a nice 8. Kept trying but could never get a shot on a doe. Had the other crab claw come in. Left and came back again at last light. Was able to get the shot. Tiny bit back but he dropped at 50 yds in the open. Now my bow i just got in October is no longer a virgin.
Great day for us and also have a gun doe hunt at Mason Mountain WMA so lot of deer processing in my future.
