Yes 3 of us went and each had several stalks.

Not an easy hunt. Glad yall got one . I will be back in Alaska on September 3rd for moose season opener!

We started at Happy Valley but after 2 nights moved south close to slope mountain.

Is haul road hunting the same as road hunting? Or are you stalking?

Stalking. You can see for a long ways from the haul road (the only road from fairbanks north). We would spot them from sitting and glassing high spots or could see them from the road. My bull started over a mile from the road and ended up .75 miles from the road. We had several stalks 1 mile plus.

How far up did you go?

Went all the way to Prudhoe bay a couple of times for gas.

This was the Haul Road between Coldfoot and Prudhoe. We camped mostly around slope mountain.

Rented a truck in Fairbanks. You have to find someone who will rent a haul road vehicle.

Man i dont know if i could move out of there if i lived there. I know winter can be brutal but id just hole up in the knife shop lol
