I have been going out to Brazos Bend SP for several years strictly for photography. There is a vast array of wildlife and birds out there. A lot of water, both lakes and marsh, so a lot of water birds. I'll post a thread soon with some of the variation but this thread is about the annual trek for the baby Great-horned owls. They have been nesting near the check in station for several years now and the same tree the past couple. Some days it's a circus there with all the peeps with cameras and binos. The nest area is a bowl where a number of large branches come out of the main trunk. Last Tuesday morning after the severe storms, my wife and I hurried up from the RV to check on the little ones. They had moved up onto a higher bough of the tree out of the bowl. They were able to settle back down in a little while later. Here are a few of the babies wet and dry and mama.
