I'm a dummy about this. What is the value? Something inside the converter? Just curious.

There is definitely something in the air, we had some people at work get hit, in broad daylight even. We have cameras (not very good ones) on our pole lights, and they got away scot free. Our new cameras will be here next week.

It would stop or slow way down if TEXAS made it illegal to sell them.

Had 2 stolen from Toyota trucks in our parking lot. Fortunately they weren't customers. We installed extra cameras and have a monitor behind the counter. They seem to go after the tundras.

Guy that runs a pawn shop told me it was for whatever type of metal thats in them. Its a quick and lucrative scrap item. I have no clue, they could take mine and I'd never notice.

They are scrapping them for the precious metals inside

They contain palladium and some platinum. They are stealing them to sell to scrappers for the money.

Googled it and this is what I found. Precious metals inside. Meth heads probably stealing them. Worth about 250 dollars per converter.

I am not for more laws in the books, but scrappers are culpable in the cycle, it ridiculous it’s in the news every day now
