              Umm....hello? LDP?!

Sorry for the long delay in getting the LDP's but we just finished getting the pics done and celebrating...I'll expand on the story a little more later, but it did not last more than 3 minutes from the time I stepped foot on the platform! Awesome feeling to get it done early on this Nebraska brute!!!

I had just climbed up in the stand and put my jackets back on for the evening sit. My binocs were laying across a limb right front of me and I snapped a picture of my surroundings in the new platform stand we built back in July. I had typed up the first text and tried to upload the pics of my surroundings...

Awesome buck Wade! Congrats to you. And well worth celebrating. And the wait on this end.

As soon as I put my binoculars back on, I could hear the faint sound of a deer running through the leaves from the ridge in front of me. I looked down the road and I could see a wide rack working his way through the trees and heading in my direction. Immediately I could see it was a mature shooter and recognized him by the game cam pic we had a week ago at this same stand

I drew back when he crossed behind a limb on the tree I was in and he stepped into my shooting lane to the right at just under 20 yards...I settled my 20 yard pin and tripped the trigger....THWACK!!!!

Immediately I could see the blood spraying across the leaves as he exited back down toward the creek bottom to the northwest. He stumbled three times and went down just behind a rise near a downed tree 60 yards from where I shot him.

I looked down and the text with the pics of my surroundings had not even gone out yet! So I climbed down to take a look and he was impressive to say the least!

Dan showed up to help me load him so we could take some quick pics in the field then haul him back to camp where we could set up proper LDP’s!

Dan and I struggled mightily to get the brute loaded up into the bed of the Honda, but eventually we got it done!

I can’t tell you how thankful I am to be able to share camp with this group of friends from the Midwest and Texas!

Now, we broke the ice on the meat pole and now it’s time for the other boys to lay down some more bone starting tomorrow morning. Dan and I saw another buck about the same size as the buck I shot out in the bean field as we were taking the rangers out to pick up the hunters in the field at dusk! Formulating a game plan to put somebody on that brute tomorrow![emoji106]

Congrats. It’s amazing when the plan comes together like that.
