          Tagged for later. I've watched about every video there is on youtube about concrete counter tops.

            Well I learned that doing this by yourself sucks. The forms and whatnot are straight forward and the masking and laying down plastic isn’t bad. The lifting of the cement mix, mixing and carrying to to location is the hard part.

              that's the part Im not afraid of. Its the staining part that scares me.

              We plan to do the floors and maybe I can get the wife talked into counter tops in our place

                  I did this. Works good but the concrete sets really fast. Be prepared and don't do a big pour with it. The white powder is like magic.

                    I got the island built,the forms installed and prepped. Wound up using 1150lbs of concrete. It was lots of mixing in buckets and making a mess but all in all it went ok.

                                I like the island top. How did you make it white? I really like the rock on the front on the island. Wish I had done that to mine.
