    Hunting highway

If you were looking to buy land and had to pick a highway to hunt off of, what would it be. I drove up from Terlingua to Dallas yesterday and 67 for shear distance may be near the top of my list. Hwy 377 is not bad either.

The one with the least traffic and few houses so they wouldn't see the spotlight.

Don't be hunting off Hwy. 67 that's where me and my crew hunt, our lease runs from Mertzon to FT. Stockton!

I was wondering who would be first to insinuate poaching!

Well, looks like you've been wondering for 4 days.

i owned some property on 79 in Oklahoma... problem was it was also along the river... I had very little problem with the hwy and the deer, but alot of times I had trespassers because of the river... I had the game warden on speed dial. He got tired of busting people and told me to just start running them off myself, Unless they had a gun..sold the place because of divorce... Don't think I would ever buy on a river again.

duh...you asked about the best road to hunt from, not the best area...

Yep, mine was 785 miles long. It has gotten a lot shorter with all the building and stuff going on.

I was always told 624 between Orange Grove and Cotulla was the Long Lease! :-)

There is a hill west of Orange Grove that the GW sat on and watched for spot lights and gun shots from, he did a great job of reducing the night hunters on that road.
