    RAP Upgrades

I bought a used Ruger American Predator a few months ago for an inexpensive hog gun. Not being able to leave well enough alone (as usual), I've slowly been upgrading it and finally got it put back together. Below is a list of the few things I've added:

Magpul Stock (Badlands Approach Black Camo)
Timney Trigger (Set at 2-1/4 lbs.)
    AD Arms Billet Cocking Piece
    Vortex 3-12x56 Hog Hunter scope
    Vortex Pro Series 30mm rings
Vortex Defender flip up caps (being shipped)
    Picatinny Rail with Sling Stud
    UTG Recon 360 Bipod

I want to give a big shout out to our own buckfan50 at JBR dippin it. Jim special ordered the Badlands Approach film to hydrodip the stock. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but Jim did an awesome job and his turnaround time was super fast considering the amount of prep work he had to do. If anyone is interested in the same pattern or any other hydrodipping projects, Jim is the guy to talk to!

Also after reading the thread started by ColinR, I sent my bolt to the Polished Knob to be customized. I went with the Vortex Twist on the bolt, threaded the handle, added the Multihole knob with bullet casing insert, and they Cerakoted the whole thing.

It's been a fun project and I'm excited about the finished results. I'll be sighting it in this weekend, then I'll be looking forward to getting after the hogs again!

I’ll try and remember to get some pics after I sight it in this weekend. Before I took it apart to have the stock dipped and with the old scope, I had 5 shot groups touching each other at 100 yards.

I got it sighted in over the weekend and overall I'm happy with the performance. I would've liked to have changed targets and shot a few more rounds with it, but with the ammo shortage, I want to keep the rounds I have for pigs. I have a pig/varmint hunt planned for this weekend and will post any kill pics.

                            Great looking rifle.

                            Should be a chooter.

Amazing what guys are doing with RAP in 6.5 Creedmoor right out of the box. Is the trigger upgrade worth the money? I am on the fence on it, I trimmed the factory trigger spring so mine is pretty light which I am super happy with.
