My FIL Robert Shaffer is scheduled for surgery this morning and could use all the prayers he can get. About 4 years ago he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of liver due to high iron in his blood and just recently his kidney function took a turn for the worse.
Although he had at least a half a dozen offers, unfortunately due to his age a live donor was not an option.
We got the call yesterday that they got a match for a liver and a kidney transplant. Apparently I can’t put into words how amazing this man is without crying like a little girl so I guess I’ll leave that part out
