I turned around to see a large bodied buck standing behind a limb of the pecan tree I was hunting from. I couldn't tell exactly how big his horns were due to the low light but he looked like a shooter. About 5 minutes later he stepped into my shooting lane 30 yards away. I drew the Mathews monster back with my scott release and settled in behind his shoulder and let the Easton axis fly. The buck ducked hard as the arrow was released and jumped into a mule kick and ran to the north crashing through the brush. I was confident it was a good shot but decided to wait about 30 minutes before tracking. I walked down to retrieve my arrow to learn that it was covered from nock to point in bright colored blood. I found blood early and followed it all the way to the prize. Enjoy![IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

Going to be in B4/Raymond creek area tomorrow, target- Dove. If you hear 15 shots I did good, if you hear 50- not so good.

Heck of a public land trophy Wakehunter. Must be an Oklahoma deer? I hear there is no public land deer in Texas.

This has been the worst year in 8 years for antlers. This is the best buck I've had a chance at and one of the best I've seen this year. I've had 2 chances at him but I'm just not that mad yet.

I'm surprised this little fellow hasn't been shot for a doe.

Got out a lil bit. Walked the dog a little today. She's happy now and sprold out on the floor, and just started snoring . Saw one buck bounding off at 150 yards, saw few ducks and a few doves. Nice day for a stroll. Got home a few ago. Got bacon and fried cabbage with red onion going in the electric skillet.

That lil buck has got a drop tine and he ain't even hardly got antler on that side yet.

Ended up with 6 dove, brought home 5, couldn't find the sixth. Dove were everywhere, I wouldn't shoot more than one at a time- the dead grass was so thick I was afraid of losing them. They were all smallish mourning dove.
