That patch looks a "little" far back to me, but I'm with you not knowing how he survived. I had one with an arrow broken off in him with a patch in almost the same spot last year. Called him patch when we saw him on camera. I think it's the big one I have coming around now, but the hair grew back.

Headed out for a walk about now. Should be off bait and in fields by now. Agreed. Shot is farther back than I wanted. I shot from the ground sneaking through beauty berries. Thought it was center of shoulder I was aiming at.... obvious it wasn’t
