Got the wire made up and mixed the resin. I added 10% micro bubbles to it also for buoyancy.

It came out pretty good. I'll get it cleaned up tomorrow and start figuring out the weight placement to get the sink rate I'm after. It will be a lure soon.

I'll work on making it look presentable today. They're kinda rough out of the mold. I'm still trying to figure out the ratio for the micro baloons (they make it more buoyant).

I've found a couple problems so far. First the micro balloons I bought on Amazon aren't playing well with the resin. They're causing a rough finish. I cast one with no balloons and it's very smooth but it sinks like a rock. I need to order some from Alumilite to solve that. In the mean time I'm moving along with the weighting and placement. I hot glue the lead to the bottom until I like how it sinks.

I found the sink rate I want and drilled and filled it with lead. I'm surprised that it's actually heavier that the wood one.

I don't have much left to be done. I'll go cast it this weekend to make sure I have it how I like it. Once I do that reproducing it will be much faster that carving and sanding a wood one.

I'm looking forward to seeing it hanging from the mouth of a fish.

Bet with the added weight, it cast much easier.
