So sorry to hear that. It has been said before, I'll say it again, you can not be too careful. So sad for the family and friends. Terrible news.

I was told 15 but unsure if that's a fact.

I know the father and other gentleman from FB only and both top notch. As the crow flies I was hunting close last night and was shocked when I heard this morning.

My condolences and prayers to the family and all who dealt with it.

              Tragic

That’s like # 4 people killed in Texas hunter negligent firearm discharge

                      Tragic.

Just as an FYI, my wife had a discharge once when in the blind with me and our little boy. I scolded her pretty good and she swore she never touched the trigger. Fortunately the gun was pointed out the window. Turns out that Remington rifles of that era would sometimes fire when the safety was pushed off. I only found that out a few years later when the Model 7 she was shooting had passed to our son. I replaced it with a Rifle Basix trigger immediately and it’s still his rifle.

                      Can’t be too safe.

Yes Remington had a run of defective triggers..
It's not easy to accidentally shoot yourself with any long gun.. It can happen though. Waiting for the details on this tragic incident!!
