3 of our 4 tanks are dry, as well.

Conditions are not looking good, but we are hopeful for another great season!

Running multiple cameras, and not seeing anything promising.

Praying hard for this rain event to sit over our area...will post pictures in the next couple of weeks once the bucks shed their velvet, and settle into their Fall range.

    Let's keep this thread going!

1.4" inches over the past (3) days!

Will not fill up the tanks, but will definitely help!

            I’m in.
Deer are hitting feeders hard in Coleman county.
            Need rain.
            Dove numbers are decent.
This year is the most quail I’ve seen on the place since I bought it in 2019, I like that.

Rain seems to have missed up repeatedly…. Both tanks have dried up. Fixed an old water trough and placed a couple new ones. Seems to be helping. Bodies haven’t filled out near as well as in the past. Hoping for some freak to sneak in and get popped this year.

The rain missed us every time.

Opening weekend likely to be a project weekend, barely any birds.

This guy showed up today. Rather odd neck bump.

I don't hunt in the area but i'll be following along. I am from Abilene and never have hunted deer in Taylor County. My in-laws used to own 250 acres north of Echo in NE Coleman county. Was able to take my first few deer there.
Good luck to all this year!

Our pond is dry but we put out three troughs, two 600 gallon and on 250. We take turns going down and filling them. Going broke keeping alfalfa out and they are pounding it. Worth it though because lots of fawns have made it so far. We never have crap for racks show up at feeders but this year might be worse. Just got cameras going recently but mostly young bucks showing up .

What is everyone seeing in regard to dove numbers?

                          Up...Let's keep this thread going!

Visited with my Dad today, and looks as if the doves have scattered now that there is ample water.

2.4" during the past (24) hours.

                          I'll take it!

LCRA meter at Clyde showing 1.9" over last 48 hours, but thats the closest point to our lease west of Moran where I can see verifiable rain totals. Headed out in the AM and very thankful for the rains, but guessing its going to make the dove hunt a lot more difficult.
