Oh good Lord please don't remind me of the USS Buttercup disaster. Classmate of mine caught a 4x4 launched from underwater straight in the hardhat because someone didn't brace it correctly. The trip to the sand pit in wet gear....still gives me shivers.

Oh, yeah.......Ft. Jackson 1985, watching the drills break some more CS capsules over the burner because there weren't enough on there already.........take off the mask, say your name/social, all I got out was "arghhhhhhh....." before I vapor locked. Thought I was gonna throw up but couldn't get a breath to start the process. Wonderfully clear sinuses the rest of the day, though.......

I will never forget my service time. At times, I wake up from some of my memories. Basic training doesn't shake me.....some of the other times.......sharp memories from a world, not of this earth. She can be a biatch........a dangerous BIATCH

Tried to call our son today, no answer but then a text several hours later:

Working today POP, making a few folks miserable!

LOL, ahhhh, the life of a Drill Sgt!
