Jealous. Glad it stayed in the family.

That a nice looking Bronco. I love those little trucks. I would kind of like to have another one, but if I had a choice, I would still choose to get a 78 or 79 over the little ones. I had a 71 with a 302, 3 spd. manual, half cab. Then a 67 with a 240 in line six, 3 spd., also half cab. Those two trucks had some rust, the 67 had more bondo than sheet metal. The 71, actually had a pretty decent body, but the top, turned out to be rusted all the way through above the windshield. So once you got up to 55 or so, the front of the roof would open up and you had A/C. Worked great most of the time, in the rain, you got a high pressure shower.
I loved the 71, it was a blast, but gave me a lot of respect for Parnelli Jones. The shop that used to modify those trucks for Baja, either did some amazing work, turning those trucks into race trucks or those drivers were some BA MOFOs. I know my 71 would beat the crap out of me, when I tried to use it like I was running Baja. It was a mud monster, but not any good for bumps, with any speed.
My 78, that truck would go anywhere. It was the king of the mud holes, ponds, swamp, marsh, whatever. It also was not any good for taking bumpy trails with any speed. But it would go anywhere. To this day, my favorite off road, mud trucks are 78 or 79 Broncos. The little Broncos, the 66 to 77, are great for trails, being so narrow and short, they will make it down trails you would normally not get a truck down. They are little mini tanks. Unlike Jeeps with their fragile drivetrains, the early Broncos had some very durable drivetrains. Then the 78s and 79s were the beasts.
You definitely have a nice looking truck, they are fun to drive, don't take a lot of power to get them to move along pretty good. My 71 with a warmed over 302 would move along pretty good.
