200+ year old sinker cypress boards

I got these from an old friend who owned a saw mill in Louisiana. He said he’s certain the logs were 150-200 years old when he had them pulled out of the Sabine River 40 years ago and sawed them into lumber.

My wife wants to have a center island/table made out of them for the kitchen.

Anyone close to Houston or Beaumont that would be interested in the project or have recommendations? They will need some plane-ing etc. Very cool lumber/history and wife is picky (aren’t they all?) but has a good go by and idea.

    Pics up next.

    Gracias

No help but that's a great project.

Can't wait to see it completed.

That is some nice lumber! I hope you'll post the finished project.

I don't know anyone local but I do have a recommendation. Trey, TP3 on here made us some fantastic black walnut countertops after Harvey. He's in dripping springs but does some great work! I bet he could do what you want.

Now there's some heterosexual wood right there if o ever saw it. Love that sinker cypress. Lasts forever and beautiful.

After seeing his barndo build, I would try to convince Sendit to do it.

That stuff is golden. Better keep it under lock and key.
