Problem with barbed wire on a feed pen is the runs are so short that it’s hard to get the fence tight (even with h braces) the wire just doesn’t have enough length to stretch and work like it’s supposed to. I can promise you a 4strand barbed wire fence won’t keep them out if they want in. If a cow can get her head between the wires they can/will go thru it.

Why not just by the welded cattle panels that are 10ft section that you pin together with wire on the bottom. Then just put a T post at every joint. i have seen them they are usually a 1" pipe frame like hootens or Priefert panels that then have standard 4x4 cattle panel welded on the bottomn section.
