We use a PetSafe bark collar and it seems to work very well. If the dog barks, it sends a warning, then a shock. No need for a remote or you to be paying attention. Self sufficient.

Depends on the mount. How big, how heavy, etc...? I always try to line mine up with a Stud, but if not and its a fairly light mount I just use the drywall anchors and no issues.
