Edge Falls, Again

It has been 3 years since I've seen water at this spot. Drove by yesterday and was surprised to see it flowing well. I just can't get enough of shooting this little water fall.

texaset 05-11-2015 12:34 AM

I've been told by various photographers that any one can take a picture . You have to know when and how to take a photograph ............ those are photographs !!

ahlongslide 05-11-2015 09:56 AM

Gorgeous photos! I want some close ups of that main tree, it has so much character

Very cool. You could easily do this picture taking stuff for a living.

Limbwalker 05-12-2015 08:44 AM

Great job.

Is that private property?

billinkb 05-12-2015 11:54 AM

You are a true artist with that camera.

Limbwalker 05-12-2015 01:03 PM

Casey, did you use a graduated ND filter on that top shot?

I did. I get them out occasionally. I have more to learn on them.

Thanks. I took these from a bridge over the creek. Nothing private about the bridge but there are no trespassing signs everywhere around it. I'm careful not to push my luck as rumor is they hammer those caught trespassing.

Randy 05-12-2015 01:32 PM

Beautiful

Devin 05-12-2015 01:46 PM

Perdy!

Cooper 05-12-2015 04:35 PM

Cool. I've done the same many times. Heck, even parking on the side of the road in that country can get you some dirty looks.

My brother and I used to park alongside the road at some of the crossings over the Llano years ago, so we could wade fish. We got lots of dirty looks, honking horns and peeling tires throwing rocks, etc. Enough that we were afraid to get out of sight of our vehicles. Years later, they had fenced down to the bridge and had signs everywhere like you describe. :(

I went back today. Things have changed! I'll be wearing this place out until I get the shot I'm after. I would like more cooperation out of the sky. Tonight felt right but didn't really go the way I wanted it to.

Looking forward to "the" shot. Looks like much more needed water in that water shed.

Pistol 05-15-2015 06:44 AM

Great shots of a unique place!

I remember the first time time I saw those falls, but there has not been much/any water since then. Glad to see them flowing again.

mojorider 05-17-2015 05:19 PM

Beautiful!

Mudbug 01-27-2022 07:46 PM

That's only part of the falls go Downstream from there and there's a huge waterfall dropped off into a giant pool I used to swim there as a kid when the owner used to charge a small fee to get in now it's owned by somebody else and they keep it all private.

WyoBull 01-28-2022 10:55 AM

This is not the true "Edge Falls" but it up the creek from it and accessible by public road. The real Edge Falls is not accessible to the public.

Thanks for the comments on these old pics! That place hasn't had any real amount of water in some time.

Stickslinger92 01-28-2022 12:11 PM

Looked up the location on maps and that creek is bone dry. Also looked on satellite view and can see the big pool and the real "Edge Falls" downstream. That would be something awesome to see.

What are the specs on your shots? Shutter speed? Stacked images etc? I feel like it would be an awesome location for a night shot too!
