The official Whiskey (bourbon) thread.

Well, since we hijacked the other thread I thought it best we start our own.

I really like Texas whiskeys! ;)b

What whiskey do you like?

wooman 04-30-2015 10:40 PM

I like a lot of different whiskers but for the money Weller is hard to beat.

CWP 04-30-2015 10:41 PM

Blantons was my go-to until I discovered Willets Pot Still Reserve. Smoothest I've had.

Just finished a bottle of Jeffersons Reserve. Was nice, but couldn't unseat Willets.

El Forajido 04-30-2015 10:57 PM

Never tried Ranger Creek36. Gonna have to buy a bottle tomarrow

BigL 04-30-2015 10:57 PM

I drink all of them but always go back to Jack Daniels.

El Forajido 04-30-2015 11:01 PM

One the rocks or neat? I prefer mine neat:cool:

bphillips 04-30-2015 11:01 PM

First glass of Blantons now.. I know we all taste different but I am NOT impressed!! Sounds like I should stock up on the outlaw before it's not available.. Oh well I keep coke around the house for stuff like this but it's an expensive mixer

.270 04-30-2015 11:03 PM

Tagged. Been enjoying my switch to bourbon for the last few years

Yea, I've seen it and been wanting to try . I can swing the price, momma is just gonna have to watch me drink :D . I'll get her another creek. Then I'll probably be up s... creek. But after a couple of glasses , I won't care:p

bk_tradguy88 04-30-2015 11:16 PM

Of my currently open bourbons my favorites are Bookers, and Four Roses Single Barrel.

Scotch, The Macallan 18, Laphroaig 18, and Aberlour Abunadh. And for a wallet friendly pour Monkey Shoulder.

Mixing whiskey, Pendleton, Weller, and occasionally Dickel.

redfishted 04-30-2015 11:20 PM

Buffalo Trace is my current drink of choice, for the money it's hard to beat.

This and 4 roses are my regulars. If you have direct tv, look for the documentary "Boubontucky"

That's some good stuff.

Hawkpuppy 1 04-30-2015 11:43 PM

Been liking Rio Brazos lately. Small batch stuff out of College Station.

BuckySWT 04-30-2015 11:43 PM

No love for Garrison Bros.?
It's pricey, but it sure tasted good to me with a couple ice cubes.

I change about every two or three months. Currently loving the Crown XO. That stuff is legit....

Gunnyart 04-30-2015 11:56 PM

Bought a bottle of Jim Beam Maple..... YUUUUUUUUKKKKKKK

Tried TX Whisky after that. Too bland for my taste. It's a blended and has no character if you ask me.

Also like Rebecca creek and Jack

hunter1313 05-01-2015 12:42 AM

Rebecca Creek is probably one of the best whiskeys that I have had. It is just smooth and made in the Great State of Texas. Try it and you want regret.

Tyler's Outdoor 05-01-2015 12:44 AM

Bird Dog Blackberry is a decent mixing and sipping whiskey that I drink 90% of the time. Nothing special, but it definitely gets the job done. I'll learn to appreciate good whiskey when I drink it to relax, not go out and chase women.

Mr. Stickers 05-01-2015 01:58 AM

Buffalo trace, makers mark...... One jagged piece ice

McAllan 18 ........ Neat & a good cigar !!!!!

Rebecca Creek is awesome stuff, however it is not "made" here in Texas. It is bottled here. Part of the blend is aged in Kentucky, they ship it here mix it with neutral spirits (vodka), then bottle it. I've done the tour of the distillery, since they bottle it 1 mile from my house. They have a sweet swag shop.

Jim Beam is my all time favorite but TX has been at the top of my list since deer season. That is some really good stuff.

Texas89 05-01-2015 07:37 AM

Rebecca creek most of the time. Every once in awhile I'll break out the garrison brothers. Neither one needs anything just a clean glass:D

arcfiddler 05-01-2015 07:44 AM

whiskey

That Bird Dog blackberry is hard to beat....harder to beat served over frozen blackberries. Their hot cinnamon isn't bad either. my Jack and Crown bottles have been collecting dust since I came across this stuff.
