Local club 3D Shoots
 

I would like to see a thread (maybe a Sticky) for all local club 3D Shoots -- especially those with set days of the month -- in order to plan ahead for vacation days or make plans around some of those shoots in other parts of the state. I am in Central Texas, so personally would be most interested in clubs around this area, but also may travel to north Texas or Houston area from time to time.

Please list your club or any you know of in your area, the typical day they shoot, and any info regarding classes -- such as compounds (several classes) and traditional (recurve, longbow and selfbow classes).

I'll start. My home club is the Austin Archery Club. Shoots are second Sunday of each month, year-round. Multiple compound classes; traditional classes include recurve, longbow and selfbow. Members and non-members welcome.

Huaco Bowmen (in Waco) says on their Facebook page that their first 3D shoot of the season will be this Saturday, Jan. 20. A complete listing of the club's shoots is provided on their FB page.

I would also encourage you to check out www.txasafederation.com as we have links to all of our TXASA clubs and I am working to get their club shoot schedules posted as well. You are welcome to come to any of the remaining TXASA qualifiers and shoot to qualify or shoot for fun.

Yeah, I wish you could delete that, it is completely wrong.
Firstly, that isn't our website. It's Texas Archery Academy's page. I'll talk to Texas Archery Academy AGAIN. Most of their information is out dated. It was taken out of The Archery Guide, my old book that I printed every year. (Cevin Price hasn't been associated with the club in 4 years. We don't shoot the entire weekend either. Our qualifier is in April this year.)

The real information for 2018 is this
2018 schedule. Shoots may be added or changed as dates approach. All club shoots are on Saturday start at 10. Other shoot start times noted below:

Feb. 10 - club shoot - All 2018 members get to shoot for free in this annual membership drive event
March 10 - club shoot and NASP fundraiser for Union Grove NASP program
April 14-15 state ASA Qualifier. Shoot either day, start at 10 am. Register before start time.
April 28-29 - T. H. E. Deerman.
May 12- club shoot
June 9- club shoot.
Sept. 8 - club shoot and Veterans Benefit shoot.
We will add a TBoT when that group does their schedule!

Want to say a big "Thank You" in public to moderator Les for making this thread a Sticky. Hopefully, all of the local clubs in Texas will post their schedules for 3D shoots here so that anyone can easily check at any time and scan through to find shoots in an area they might be heading or willing to go out of their way for.

That's the problem with websites, no one updates them and you have no idea how old the information is. A simple archery shop search will return 40-60% businesses that are actually closed, and have been for several years. That's why I did The Archery Guide every year, but then printing costs got way out of control. We are working on a solution, but I don't know how long it will be.
For now, Facebook seems to have the most current information.

BCAC is hosting a 3D shoot on March 13 in Bryan. (1715 Louis Street).

Start: Trad - 9 am; Compound - 10 am
Course: 30 ASA targets, All ASA classes
