Odd find in my moms old cookbook
 

Found these several years ago in my moms cookbook after she passed away. Not something I expected to find in there. Either she was hiding them from someone or she was a ****** at sometime!

That is metal art of a "bakers hat" (like the Pillsbury doe-boy wears).

I have a close match my grandfather gave me thirty years ago.

I guess it was not a good idea, to complain about your mother's cooking. Sounds like you would pay dearly, might be hard to eat for a while afterwards. Was your mom Irish or Polack?

She just used those to hold the pages open, if they fell out onto the floor when the guest could, well that was an extra special bonus compliment night!

used to knead bread. wonder there wasn't two of them!!
