Mine was hurting by the halfway point. Can't hardly lift a beer right now.
Thank goodness I'm an ambidextrous drinker.

Alright who shot what divisions and what did you score?

Menís Recurve Open: 417
Menís Longbow Open: 450

Iím really disappointed in my recurve score and really surprised with my longbow score.

DRT 04-11-2021 02:34 PM

That's a good set of scores.
We wont talk about mine. I started off fairly decent in the first half. Shoulder started having issues around target 17. By target 25 it was in full ouch mode. We broke for lunch and I stiffened up.
I only shot the one bow but not sure when I'll shoot again.
By the end I couldn't keep my string shoulder/elbow up. Can't draw my bow at all today. I'm sure it will be at least a couple weeks before it's ready to shoot any quantity of arrows again.
That said I know I'm never gonna be in the mix for top spots. Every animal is a new match for me and shooting that animal is what my focus is. My final score is something Interested in but more for the fact of wanting to be able to respect my shooting vs how I measure against the others there

I shot men’s recurve open, after shooting traditional for only 8 months now and , this being my first ever 3D shoot of any kind I scored 307. I missed 8 out of the 50 targets completely. With that being said I had an absolute blast and learned a ton. Gary ( DRT) took me under his wing and gave me some pointers and most importantly encouragement ,all day. I can’t say enough about how nice all the folks were that I met. I will definitely be doing the 3D shoots again and continue to try and improve.

CamoQuest 04-12-2021 08:02 AM

Ladies Recurve Open- 364
Ladies Longbow Open- 370

I came in second in both classes, and came away with a better idea of what I should be working on. I need to hang some targets in the trees, and practice shooting from the roof down to the ground, lol!
Daniel shot MRO and MLO, with a 360 and 393. We both had a good time, and both of us left an arrow or two out there, never to be seen again, lol.

ballgame 04-12-2021 12:16 PM

LBO 448
LBW 420
RCO 427 w/2 drops

warrenm0624 04-12-2021 12:48 PM

longbow open 449- lost to grand passage by one. very upset.
recurve open 470
selfbow 439 (maybe 429)

Bisch 04-12-2021 02:10 PM

Iím not even gonna post up here how bad I shot!!

Congrats to all who did well!

What a fun time as always. Beautiful venue. Great course. Enjoyed seeing old friends and making some new ones.

First half was decent, interesting.
Second half, not so much. A lot of bbn open shots jammed into a fairly short span. Necessary maybe, idk. But it was definitely the opposite of the first 25.

Bisch 04-13-2021 09:25 PM

I disagree! I think the whole course was great! Two different halves - yes, but both sides were challenging in their own way.

DRT 04-13-2021 09:43 PM

Any target in any spot is a challenge for me. That said it just seemed like the last several were just set out in the open, although longer shots, nothing like the first half in the trees and brush. Arrows were much easier to find on those targets though.
Ask me how I know.:o

Bisch 04-13-2021 11:04 PM

The only arrows I lost were on those wide open targets! One on the bobcat, and one on the blesbok.

By that time I could only force myself to push that elbow up and my form suffered bad shooting low.
That stag target was pretty cool though. Reminds me of that Prudential insurance logo.

We shot 26-50 first thing in the morning on Sunday, thinking it would go better than Saturdayís round. Nope, lol! I shot it better Saturday, when I was already tired from the first half. I 12íd the buffalo on Saturday (by some miracle!) but missed the whole thing Sunday morning, lol.
