I have a Sony DCR-TRV340 camcorder and I use Digital8 tapes in it. The camcorder gives a time/date stamp on the recorded segment that I can view when I play back the video THROUGH the camera even if I have it hooked up to my tv. This info is important to me because it tells me when I saw deer, what the arrow did when I shot--whether I hit high, low, foward, back, or if I hit at all--plus I can recall the exact action without having to rely on my memory--I'm at that age where memory is not too accurate. I use Studio 8 to download, edit and burn to cd/dvd my tapes. The problem is this: I do not see the time/date info after I download the recording to my computer! As tapes don't last forever, I really would like to save all my recordings to dvd but still be able to see the time and date on the disc. Is there a way I can do this? And how? I hope you folks can help me.

I checked, Pat and it doesn't have a submenu for dv info. In the "capture format" it has the ability to capture in dv or mpeg. Does that make a difference?

Sorry I hadn't got back to you sooner, Pat. In your last post you mentioned an aftermarket burner---how does it work and which one do you recommend?
