Race #2 today in Saudia Arabia was Redbull dominated even with one of their cars starting at 15th on the grid![emoji43]*[emoji94] Max did not mess around making up those spots. Checo held on to win his 5th podium however. [emoji964][emoji964][emoji964] Alonso now with Aston Martin looked great but penalties knocked him off the podium. Mercedes and Ferrari were non factors honestly. Mercedes got 3rd due to Alonso being penalized. They better wake up and figure their car out or this season will be done by race 12 - 15, or so.[emoji849]
This scheule gets us to the halfway point of the season for F1.
Yes, I am thinking I will attend my 1st MotoGP at COTA this year.[emoji106][emoji965][emoji106]
looks like Alonso was reinstated as P3 last night after further review. Little sloppy in their handling of this whole situation but there are a lot of Aston Martin fans smiling again.
I think that Russel had a pretty great race all things considered. Happy to see him in the top 5 and pushing for more.
Maybe what was most impressive was RB and their dominating performance. Perez hanging 5s+ on Max is a feat with the safety car restart. He really drove well. Max's performance was also impressive especially the first 10-12 laps. I love seeing Aston Martin in the top but in reality Max was 20s+ on Alonso. I am not sure how anyone challenges RB without some serious upgrades being rolled out.
Red Bull, wow. That's all I can say. That car is dialed. I have to say, I bet the Red Bull team has to be an amazing team to watch work in the garage. And I love seeing Sergio win. Chalk one up for North America!
And great seeing Aston on podium. Good luck to the rest of the field as they continue making changes.
Aston Martin has more than twice the wind tunnel development time that Red Bull has so it will be interesting to see if Alonso closes the gap with Max and Checo. Same with Mercedes but they have a bigger gap to overcome. Ferrari though…lol
17s-20s race gaps are massive. I am not sure that anyone can close that kind of gap consistently but I would love to see them a bit closer just to keep a fighting chance of some wheel to wheel action at the front. Heck I wouldn't rule out some Max/Checo battles something similar to Rossberg/Hamilton of years past. That would be fun to watch and fun to see Horner's reaction i.e. full on coronary
Zak comes across as a pretty poor leader in the Netflix doc, and judging by the team turnover, it seems to confirm this. I know Andres is new, so maybe more shakeup's are coming anyways, and it's just the course of business as usual at McLaren.
McLaren is looking to improve their team by hiring Ferrari former head of vehicle concept? Why? They looking for a person who will develop a car who will probably, maybe finish a race without a engine or technical failure. Good luck with that.

Mind you, he isn't able to start working until 2024, so he is gardening this year. All that gardening is definitely going to improve his gameplan for the 2024 season LOL
FYI, turns out the RV spots for the MotoAmerica races in September on what I guess are the infield are 30 or 50 amp, no water or electric. But a pump truck will supposedly suck and fill for $60ish bucks.
They said they will open their other RV spots after the Nascar race - when they get a better feel on what to charge for them. 2 nights at $426 was rich enough for me. He warned the full hook up spots will easily be double and go for much more in the big name race weekends. Guess I'll stick to the bush league for now.
Wish I could do MotoGP, but the schedule doesn't allow.
Back to F1, Redbull vs Redbull....ok I can watch, torn who to root for though.
Just finished watching the Saudi Arabian race (shift schedule at a plant prevents me from watching the races in time)and just playing devil's advocate here...Max Verstappen couldn't let Checko retain #1 in the world standing for just 1 race? Max HAD to get the fastest lap to stay in #1. Come on man. How vain could 1 man be. We all know Max is Red Bulls golden boy and will do everything they can to bring home his 3rd driver's championship, but you couldn't let Checko taste the sweet nectar of being #1 in the world for just 1 race? It was only 1 dang point!!!
