    Anyone move to New Mexico?

Looking for anyone that made the move from Texas. Considering retiring there and would like to hear from anyone that has made the move.

    Thanks.

I lived there in the mid 90's for a little over a year. I lived in Santa Fe....dont do that.
At that time in my life i was not making nearly enough money to live in a tourist town. I got up in the mountains 1 time for a full day. If i could move out there when i retire i would.

My parents moved to ruidoso for several years and loved it. Taxes lower, utilities lower. Finally moved back to be closer to kids and grandkids. Still have a cabin there, though.

Message Asttbe on here. Larry moved to Angel Fire a couple years ago. He doesn’t post much anymore but is still an occasional lurker.

Keep a tiny property in TX and claim it as your primary residency to get out of the state income tax. Best of both worlds.

Lived in Albuquerque from 06 to 11, great weather, hated everything else. 2 hours to the nearest lake to bass fish. high crime, If your into riding UTV in the desert that's cool just don't run into all the trash people dump out there. No if your thinking of moving to like Ruidoso or somewhere in the mountains then go for it but stay out of the major cities.

Not moving to a city, trying to get away from that now…and the humidity.

Need to investigate the income tax though, our income will only be from retirement though, not sure that matters to the tax man though.
