    Is this a safe length?

I found a good deal on a bunch of Victory VF TKOs and couldn’t pass them up. They had been cut and set up already. Length from nock to end of insert is about 1/2” shorter than what I usually shoot. My DL is 29”, but I’m currently shooting a Mathews, so it’s set at 28.5”. The arrow length is 28 3/8”. I’m thinking they’re fine, but wanted to double check here. I’m not an expert and want to make sure I’m not going to shoot through a finger….

Here’s a pic at full draw:

Oh, and I shoot Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts, if that matters.

As far as function, sure. Just have to be cognizant of your finger. You’ll only stick it in the way once.

Only word of advice i would offer on caution is to make sure your broadhead blade clears the riser in the side. Have seen this lead to consequences when edge of broadhead was pushing against the rise and as such pushing out away from bow ever so slightly. Left scars on the bow.

Ok good to know. I don’t believe that will be an issue. Thanks!

My bow and arrow set up looks like that. Always has. No issues. Just mind your booger picker.

Should’ve known I’d get a mixed bag of opinions. With the full containment rest, I’ll be fine. I don’t USUALLY shoot with my pointer stuck up in the air….

Not an issue in terms of safety or shoot ability…. how the arrow flies with a predetermined length vs the setup is a different discussion.

Yeah I’m figuring that out over the next couple days. The main reason I sprung for these is the total weight, spine, and FOC was almost exactly what I was aiming for. Hopefully I was aiming right…

You will be fine. I guess everyone has forgotten the good ole over draw days where the broadhead was 3 inches behind the riser for another 3fps of speed sitting on a 2 prong rest!

I would not. I think you would have clearance issues on the riser. A guy could not shoot G5 strikers like that.

I would have no issues shooting that... you just need to make sure your shooting form allows for that kind of setup.

Mine are cut another 1/2" shorter than that. No issues at all.

Exactly how I’ve shot since time began. No issues. Ram cats had to be indexed but shot great
