    After market stock preference

I have a Ruger American predator that shoots great for a factory rifle but will not feed. After alot of research it appears this is apparently a common problem due to the magazine design. The only sure fire way to fix it is to go to an after market stock that accepts AR style magazine.

So my question is which after market stock manufacturer do you prefer. Keep in mind this is not a custom rifle but it goes every where with me and gets used often by myself and guests. Just want a decent quality stock that will allow me change magazines. I have been looking at magpul and Boyd's so far. Any others?

The Magpul stock is awesome for those guns.

Boyd's are nice but heavy. Especially when you add scope bipod and suppressor. Mine feeds fine. Had to do a little dremel work on a few areas to make the fit better.

Clip a coil off that magazine spring and it will probably feed just fine. Go slow and clip a little at a time.

I'd vote for Boyd's...Only becasue they had a specialty laminated thumb hole stock for my gun.

the stock is left handed, made to fit a right handed action. fits my old savage 30-06 to a "T". Nice stocks. a tad bit heavy but nice.

            Magpul

I spent a lot of time and energy trying to stiffen up the factory stock, and finally gave up. (added fiberglass to forend, added silicone to buttstock, and some other minor inletting and adjustments; it was improved, however, I was never happy with it)

Once I put it in the Magpul stock, groups tightened, and it feeds flawlessly. They're well constructed, and modular to the point that you can personalize it a bit to fit you best. Very happy with mine.

And I thought this was going to be about the stock market. Wrong market, I guess.

                AG, Mesa, Manners.

But I’d just rock a Boyd’s or Magpul on that gun and be fine.

We put my sons 243 in a Boyd’s that we really liked but got tired of the stupid factory magazines. They are terrible. Even how they lock in.

Moved it to a Magpul and never looked back. It’s so much nicer in the Magpul with the Magpul mags. Stock is super nice for the price.

Sharps Bros for the win! I also have a magpul which I think is heavy and a bit ugly.

I had a magpul on mine, for the money it was good.
