Has anyone added a wood burning fireplace or stove to a older mobile home? I have one I am remodeling at the ranch. Ive never had a stove but have had fireplaces in regular homes. Will a stove heat the small mobile home as well as cook? What do you look for in either option when adding toa mobile home?

A good wood burning stove will put out some serious heat. We have one in a Minnesota farm house and it will run you out of there in January if you stoke it too much. Need good heat barriers around it and place it on protective plate. It would need to be a very small one to get it hot enough to cook on without getting it too hot in the house.

Yep it can be done. Be mindful of the weight of one too on floor support
There are certain requirements on distance from wall & having heat barrier on the floor & up the walls a certain distance
Like others have said I would place some type of fire retardant mat/hearth rug in front of opening to minimize embers popping out when opening & stoking fire
