No but i have seen tons of deer there. If you got drawn I can see it being a successful hunt. Good luck

The best spot to hunt has to be middle of campground at about 7 pm in my experience LOL

I put in for that hunt every year, really wish I could get in on it.

I got picked last night on the second chance. I will be there Jan 10 thru 12. Looking forward to it. Any trip into the woods is a great trip.

We drew the December dates on second draw, right after buying our permits for another draw on the same dates in a different category. Learned my lesson. We have a decision to make.

My buddy and I had a fun hunt, but unfortunately nothing to bring home. The place is loaded with deer. The biologist said it's a 1:5 buck-to-doe ratio, and 3 acre/deer density. We saw 5-10 deer on each ride out to/from the blinds. Being a state park, safe shooting locations and directions somewhat limited shot opportunities. Doe/spike only. Of seven hunters, four does and two hogs were killed, and one doe was hit but lost. There should have been one more doe killed, but three caps didn't ignite the charge in my muzzleloader...

Muzzleloader or shotgun only, and you could only shoot facing away from the campgrounds and other hunters. I saw deer each sit but my spot was real brushy. Started in a pop-up and switched to a climber for the last two sits.

Heads up, not sure if they will change it for next year, but on this hunt "standby" meant you would get called to take over a blind location if/when hunters tagged out. Different than other hunts where standby means you draw for paid hunter's spots who didn't show up.

I should add, the park staff was great. They worked hard to make it a good experience.
