    Calling Cajun Blake….M700 Sendero ID

Were all Senderos stamped such on the barrel? The 3 I have are but I have a buddy who wants to sell me his STW as a Sendero but it doesn’t have the stamp. It’s a factory rifle with the HS stock….it doesn’t have the stamp on the barrel though. I was with him when he bought it new in 2001.

I was on one of the Remington 700 groups recently. There was a guy trying to sell a 700, he was claiming it was one type of 700, but multiple people claimed the rifle he had was a Sendero, but the rifle did not have Sendero on the barrel or the receiver. I have seen some with Sendero on the receiver. I was questioning the people who were claiming that rifle was a Sendero with no markings saying so. All Senderos I have seen have Sendero on them.

I don't know, but there are multiple guys on a 700 group I am on that seem to think not all Senderos have the name stamped on the gun. I don't think I would buy a rifle as a Sendero, without the name on the gun. I might still buy it, but in my mind it would be a 700, and not a Sendero.

Was 7 STW ever a Sendero caliber?

I have an original 95 Sendero 25-06. It is not stamped, but it's verified through Remington per the SN. Not all were stamped.

Apologies, I read that as 7mmSTW. I understand there were Shooting Times Wesern.

I've only seen sendero stamped on barrels of the original sendero. The sendero SF and SFII didn't say it on gun but said sendero on box and owner's manual.

I'm guessing 98% of all factory Senderos left Ilion, NY with "Sendero" stamped on the barrel. Have never seen an action stamped Sendero. The remaining 2% were likely special runs by various wholesalers (i.e. Lispey's, Lew Horton, etc...) who would order 500 rifles based on their specs. Fluted barrel, laminate stock, no stamping, etc... I've owned a dozen Senderos and all were stamped with this rifle model on the barrel. Bought my first around 1994 (300 WM) and paid $399. I currently don't own any.

Have a special run and it’s still stamped sendero. Rem did make other guns like sendero that are not sendero. Custom shop and police runs.

I had a 7 STW at one time. Not sure if it was stamped Sendero, but had a Sendero contour barrel.

I have a 7STW sendero that isn’t stamped as well. Not marked with anything on the barrel besides cartridge and their little warning label
