    Solar Panel for Feeder Battery

My solar panel is not charging my battery and I just replaced it (the battery) earlier this season. Is the clear cover too old and yellowed? Can I just replace the cover? Or do these have a shelf life and I just need to replace it?

I would just spend the 25 bucks for a new one.

You can put a voltmeter on it and test it in full sun to see if its working or not and if you just have a a bad connections or something. Should read 14-15 volts.

Or $25 for a new one. Yellow shouldn't affect it for something as small as a feeder battery. I have one that is 15 years old and still going strong knock on wood.....but have had some that do fail in 6-8 years.

        Good idea. I'll try that.

I have a panel that is far more yellowed than yours and it is still charging fine after 4-5 years. I think you just need a new panel

            Best idea!

I have not replaced any of mine and alot are 7-9 years old. A Feeder battery doesn't need much juice
