    How many doe?

For the Edwards / Real county guys, how many doe do yall shoot on your property each season? How many do you see per hunt (average)? We are about 3000 acres low fence and I see on avergae 12-14 doe per hunt and sometimes I will see 20 plus doe. Talking to the other hunters they see the same some see more. We are allowed 14 doe total to be taken from this property each year.

Seems very low to me given the denisty. This does not include all the axis either just WT. Would love to hear from a biologist on their professional opinion.

I get 11 MLD tags in Leon County on about 700 acres.

Agree, I’m thinking we need to shoot 30-40.

I asked Larry Weishuhn(well known and respected WT Biologist)this question once and his exact words were:

"kill every doe that you see and when you have scared yourself into thinking that you have killed them all you might have kill 1/2 of what you actually need to kill"

                    They get smart. Very smart..

I'm in Edward's County to, south of town on 674. We have alot like you. A biologist came out and said we needed to shoot 7 doe per 100 acres.

I know we have to many right now. Talking to the neighbors during sits, we have 40 doe at 3 stands.

We don’t have the acres but we see about the same number of does per stand. 1 stand per about 130 acres we average 2.5 doe tags per 100 acres and have a bunch of does. Rarely see less than 10, have a video of over 25 on a pasture. Did y’all do stand counts or spotlight surveys? How were your numbers on the survey. Our biologist is awesome. Keep a running survey count and keep them up to date. They may issue more if needed

I think there is an interactive map on TPWD that you can estimate MLD tags based on a map and boundaries you draw. Might be a good resource.
