    Viht powders ...

How are these powders for small rifle rounds (.22 - .25 cal.)?
    Do anyone have likes, dislikes?

Am considering for a .22-250 load/s which will allow higher velocities.

What bullet weight are you using and what velocity are you looking for?

Expensive and spotty availability even in the good times. Good powder though.

50-55 grn. Would like to see closer to 4000 FPS, just for the heck of it, but the bullet may come apart?
Sierra's data is MUCH different(higher FPS for same bullets, powder) than the Viht charts for these particular specs though.

Goodness! That seems hot for a 55gr pill.

I’m at 3717 avg on my 250 and it’s at the upper end.

I shoot N140 in the swift...big fan of the vit powders.

You aren't safely gonna get to 4000 in the 22-250 with 50's.

what are you getting max on a 50 grn then, and it not coming apart?

I agree on the 55 not getting there.

Normally VV was higher than other smokeless powders.

Whether they come apart or not depends on the bullet. 3850-3900 with a TSX is realistic and will kill the crap out of stuff.

Nicely crafted powder for sure. As far as expensive, if you price it per round it’s fairly negligible. However, depending on the round, I think Hodgdon makes great powder as well.

I’ve only ever shot Hornady 55 BTSP out of it. Found a load and stick with it. No problem killing deer, pigs, coyotes, cats, or coons.

yes. Sierra recommends their 50 and 55 grn Blitz not be loaded over 3600 FPS
or they will possibly come apart in flight, yet on the specific pages for those bullet sizes, they had optimal hunting loads at 3700-3800 FPS.

It’s made in Finland and has to be imported to the States. Extremely clean and very consistent. Buy some Lapua brass, Berger bullets, and Vitavhouri powder and you will shoot bug hole groups. That is my go to recipe for accuracy

I run a 70 BK at a touch over 3700 out of my 6. It flat out scoots, and anything hit by it has flopped where it stood. I shot a doe at 318 that was dead before it hit the ground, and it was the quickest drop I’ve ever seen.
