    Big Lake/Richland Creek area acorns?

I'm going to try to go standby for one of these two hunts this weekend. Anyone know in general when the acorns start dropping in that area?

Probably right now. I noticed one tree at my house that started dropping. Now I’m here at the lease and I’m finding some trees dropping as well. The 2 places you mention are about halfway between my house and the lease. But my experience with lots of acorn trees, they really start raining down in October.

Now is good lol. My neighbors oak in her yard has been dropping them last week. It’s about a hour north of Richland creek. Went to liberty county this past weekend and some of them where dropping.

ok thanks. I saw a deer eating under a live oak on the way to work this morning so I assumed it had starting dropping but I'm a couple of hours west of either of those WMAs so wasn't sure if it would be the same.

Last year they were not dropping at BLB the first week in October. But the deer were checking them.

That's good news. Makes the archery season hunting a little easier out there.

thanks everyone. These are probably gonna be some wet, muddy hunts after the rain coming in this week.

Long as the gates are open, the muddyer the better

They will cancel them if it rains enough even with it being this dry
