    Teal reports....

We had a great opening weekend in Nada, but numbers really fell off last weekend. Hopefully this cool front brings in more birds. What are you seeing?

We're hunting close to Nada, as well. No big groups for opening weekend, but squeezed out limits with singles and doubles.

This weekend we saw larger groups of teal (10 to 20), but we had a hard time to pulling them in and we did not do as well.

As we were headed out on Sunday, there are 2 large roost ponds on 2546 (SW of Nada) that we covered up with birds. Plus, there are some LARGE fields in rice in this same area that are not being hunted.

Its been along time since we've had temps in the 50Fs during Early Teal so Thursday morning could be exceptional.

My brother drove up to somewhere in Kansas last weekend and he said he was covered up with them.

I went fishing if that tells you how bad the teal hunting was. On Wednesday and Thursday we only took home 6 birds with two people near Seadrift. I hope the last weekend will be better with the cooler weather.

Been real tough on the Garwood prairie. Few birds on the coast. Seems like you either have them or don't. Will keep chasing them till Sun as long as I am breathing. LOL!

Lol... I watched a video he took of hundreds leaving the Rice field they were trying to hunt when they pulled up before sunrise.

They are there just using the moon and I am sure some are just hanging out in the marsh or headed further south

I have a friend hunting in Saskatchewan right now. He said they are all still there. Said S&$t ton of them, more than usual this time of year. Maybe this front is bringing some with it. Going to try to get a few hunts in this week.

I bet there isn't one acre of water teal could lite on in this state nowadays that they don't get shot at.
