    State Forests in East Texas

Anyone ever drawn any of the state forests over in East Texas? Anyone? Not finding anything in search results...
    ID Fairchild
    Masterson
    EO Siecke
    John Henry Kirby

I was looking and the success rates are real high on all of them and I noticed that not a lot of people put in for them..
I think they're pretty much YGDE categories. We may try one on standby this year... a couple of them show like 6 or 7 permits and 100% success rate! Even if it's just a spike, doe, pig, I wanna get my daughter on something!

Not an answer to your question, but have you look at the TYHP?

Yeah. I think they have to be 12 or older?

My son drew at ID Fairchild about 7 years ago. At that time they had assigned blinds and drove you to them. I believe they had been throwing out corn a week or so before the hunt.

Most kids shot deer and I believe everyone saw deer. At the time, they let kids shoot bucks of any size but I believe they have antler restrictions now. Staff did a good job of trying to get everyone a deer. My kid hadn’t seen anything on the first couple of hunts so they let us move to another stand. He shot a deer that last night.
