    Stolen Skid Steer BOLO

Buddy had his skid steer stolen out of Boyd TX. If you see this truck and or skid steer please contact Wise County Sheriffs Office or your local PD. GPS was ripped off and left in the ditch.
    2020 Cat 299D3
    Serial # BX902388
Truck looks to be a silver 17-22 Ford superduty with black wheels.

    Dang man. That sucks.

They tried to steal ours twice but our GPS is a PIA to get to. We were alerted both times of low battery and then no battery and we took off. Almost caught them.

Was that your buddies trailer also?

Rubber, kinda looks like a steel track in the picture.

Just curious if he used the security code you can enter into the machines computer. Hope they get caught and he gets his machine back.

Man, if it was stolen from somewhere else, I’d have swore I saw it this afternoon. There was a silver Ford towing one that caught fire on NB 35 in Temple this afternoon. Burned up the whole engine bay.

Did they discard the factory GPS? If not call CAT and see if they can see it on visionlink - either way I would call CAT.
In our experience the thieves usually drop the skid steer off somewhere and wait a while then come back to pick them up. We have recovered two skid steers that were stolen (both dropped in a ditch or field) and lost one. The one that was not recovered went a week before it was reported as stolen (Long story but ultimately we did not activate lojack until it was reported to us and it was too late by that time). One was recovered with lojack and one was recovered with visionlink.

Good luck with search, hope it is recovered.

I saw one that looked like that today, never seen it before. It was being pulled by a black Dodge, I think dually, it and I think a small excavator, both were on a trailer that looks like that one.

I will try to find out who those guys are and if there is any reason they should have equipment on a trailer. The guys that were hauling the equipment, are new to the complex, they have only been around about a month, I would guess. I have only seen them driving around in the Dodge, never pulling anything behind it. So it was a bit of a surprise today to see them hauling two pieces of equipment.

They pulled the GPS system off of it before they left. I suggested to my buddy to let holt know so if someone uses that serial number, they will know it’s stolen. I doubt it will be seen again, but weirder things have happened.
