    80% AR Lower

Has anybody bought a 80% lower for a AR-15 then finished out? If so how hard was it and what tools are needed. You don't need a FFL to buy them so I was considering getting a couple but don't know anything about finishing them out. TIA

Unless things have changed you will need the lower shipped to a ffl holder. And there pretty easy to put together, just you/tube it.

At present you do not need an FFL for an 80% lower. I have not done one yet but there are jigs and instructions available to help.

Don’t need an FFL for an 80% lower. That’s kinda the whole point of it…

Can’t speak to the AR lowers. I know some folks who’ve done the p80 pistol frames. Was pretty easy and a fun project. You can pretty much go full custom without having to pay for a bunch of “extra” OEM parts.

Having access to a Mill really helps. I've seen guys do it in a drill press though. Take your time

Nothing has changed. An "80%" is NOT a firearm. Its just a piece of metal until its finished. No FFL needed.
Any Non-Prohibited person can make their own firearms for personal use. No FFL, No Serial #, No Gov involvement

Personally don't see the point. The aren't any cheaper than a finished lower and if you screw it up its really not cheaper. By law you cannot sell it after you finish it. And I'm sure Uncle Sam already knows you have guns.

This. With how cheap complete lowers go on sale right now it does not justify the time and costs.

Ships to your home. I believe my jig came from 80percent.com. but there are several out there. Once you read and UNDERSTAND the instructions they are pretty simple. Can so one in about an hour. Got three waiting on time to do now.

If you’re just looking for a fun project get it. But if you’re trying to keep the government from knowing you have guns, that’s not happening.

Buying thru a individual sale accomplishes the same thing

The unpainted is what I have now. Gonna finish one and have it powder coated to check tolerances and how it stands up compared to ceracoat

Yes you can sell it after you finish it.
The law says you can't build guns with the INTENTION to sell without a License.
You can build an 80% for personal use and then decide later you want to sell it.
You didn't intend to sell it at the time of building

To be clear, if you plan to
Sell it you have to serialize it and engrave it with a manufacturer or maker.
