Our little Fox Terrier was attacked

Our Great Pyrenees had puppies Friday afternoon. Saturday evening (7:30) our 15 year old, deaf Rat Terrier apparently got too close to the puppies and the GP picked her up and chomped her pretty. (At least 2 broken, dislocated ribs, plus internal injuries( Drove to Bandera vet, took X-rays-they recommended going to San Antonio 24 hour vet. Got there at 10:00 pm, took more X-rays. They said she was stable but would not have a surgeon to operate on her till 8:30 am next morning. So we got there at 8:00am. They’re now saying 11:30am before surgeon will operate. Office personnel very frustrated-Having to explain what happened to too many people.

Hope you were able to get Vet to do the surgery.

Sorry to hear this brother. Hope they can save it.
I used to own a large breed dog that got jealous of another pet and chomped down on it like that.

If a dog is deaf/blind (I've had one of each), one has to be extra vigilant and protective of them.

The vet told us after he opened her up, a kidney had to be removed, the spleen was torn, and most of the sections inside the abdomen were all torn apart. We made the decision to let her go. She may have lived a month or several, but it would be a long drawn out process, possibly with more surgeries needed. Hard decision to tell him, but we know it was the right one. Got her home, and found her a shady spot under a young Oak tree.
              Thanks for the thoughts guys.

Dang. Hate to hear this. If you need another little guy then I would look at Russel Rescue of Texas.... we are on #4. Always have a few and we go for the older dogs. The best pets EVER.

                              sorry for your loss.
