Best Way to Catch a Feral Cat in Live Trap

What is the secret tp trapping a feral cat in a live trap? Have one that keeps messing around the house, want to catch it and let it go across the neighborhood.

Does not belong to any of our neighbors.......

Half opened can of tuna or sardines has always worked for me.

I've caught them in a racoon-sized hav a hart live trap with wet cat food. That said, I've also caught skunk, opossum, and coon with the same, lol.

You can try putting a blanket or something over it to hide the trap. Cat will eventually go in.

I had the same problem. Caught the cat in a live trap using cat food and drove that sucker 5 miles or so away and turned it loose. That jack wagon was back on my front porch two days later.

You better go way farther than across the neighborhood.

I put the trap in a cardboard box in the bed of my truck. Wife fried some shrimp for dinner one night and I used the tails for bait.

Forgot to add that I set up a cell cam on my trap. Lol

.177 cal pellet to back of head keeps them from coming back.

Set it off the ground about 18" on a bench or something with some tuna as bait. This will keep the skunks from getting in there. Unless you like trapping it over & over, you better haul it if somewhere and shoot it. If you don't, it might beat you back home.

I use dry cat food in a small bowl , as it doesn’t attract flies, but wet probably smells better to the cat , preparer to catch a coon or opossum
