I did have our family friend who works on the Covid floor at a memeorial hermann facility tell me she has her first patients as of last week. She did not say how many.
From what I've heard, the virus doesn't do well in warm/hot weather. Combined with the fact that many people are now either vaccinated or have already had the virus, that will make the numbers go down even more. There will likely be a surge of some degree when cooler weather gets here again, but likely not nearly as many cases as last year. I lost my mother in law and a business acquaintance to it, and one friend is just now getting back to work after having Covid and then post-Covid pneumonia.
Wife and I lost our sense of taste/smell yesterday. I went to dr this am and he wasn’t too concerned. Haven’t had a fever, but have had cough/congestion/cold for two weeks. Think it’s the crud from the kiddos daycare and we keep passing it back and fourth, but I got a rx for some nose spray and antibiotics. Wife has been taking steroids and same nose spray for two weeks and not really any better (she goes back to dr on Wednesday).
Dr cleared me for work, and said I wasn’t contagious, but I’m going to try and get a rapid test to make sure I don’t have it. Called the local testing place and no one answered (don’t even think they are testing anymore).
