    looking for vacation ideas

Looking for ideas for wife and I. I am game for out of state. We are in our early 50's, so all the young crazy stuff is out. I would not mind a offroad vacation. We both enjoy rock crawling with my buggy and her Gladiator

I believe this is next on our list.

You have an off road capable vehicle....so get off road.
Down load OnX and load up a tent and a 20gallon jug of water and explore back country colorado, New Mexico, Utah.

Lots of pretty country out there just waiting to be seen and enjoyed. I would take off west with the bride. Moab, southern Colorado, or northern NM would all be good options.

Southwest Colorado. Take her Gladiator, and go see some countryside. Stay somewhere around Durango, Ouray, or Telluride. Durango has the most to do, but is furthest from the trails. Lots of good food, good drink, and plenty of scenery. We trail ride, fish, hike, and just enjoy being outdoors!

As already mentioned Moab or Telluride would be good choices. I also really liked the Buena Vista/Leadville areas and the area just south of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Going in the other direction Hot Springs Arkansas is beautiful but the offroad is mostly fire roads and the local offroad park. I was there for two days and still didn't see everything and there was stuff from mild to a challenge for my juggy on 42's.

I love Moab, and I’ve been 6-7 times. I’ve only made the mistake of going in the summer once though. It’s a giant oven this time of year. It was 115-118* the whole time during the day, and it wouldn’t get below 100 until 11pm. I’ll stick with February to March timeframe for that area.

Headed to Lake Tahoe in the morning. I'll let you know.
