    Zero turn commercial mower help

I am about to buy a nice commercial mower, I have priced the Scag, Bad Boy, Kubota and John Deere and they run between 8,150.00 and 10,009.00 with cheapest being the Bad Boy and the most expensive being the John Deere. The John Deere dealer will loan out a commercial mower if we have to take it in for repairs. All have 60”-61” decks and range from 25.5 HP to 27 HP. Thoughts?

If I had a choice I’d get a Scag. There’s a reason most of the serious lawn services use them.

Look into the Spartans. I was very surprised, and I ended up with one.

I have a Deere. I bought it manly because of my nearness to the dealer. I have been pleased with its performance.

I’ve had great luck with my Dixie Chopper
It’s a Silver Eagle Commercial version.
I just use it for all my own properties but it cuts like a champ. I was cutting 1.5’ crazy thick grass and weeds today and never missed a beat. Always starts too which is a major plus. Yoakum area.

In that price range I wouldn’t consider the bad boy or the kubota.
The only kubota that I was impressed with was the diesel and they’re pricey.
The 2 best decks on the market belong to Scag and John Deere. The velocity (scag) and 7-Iron (John Deere). Both are only available in the commercial series.
Scag has the best spindles on the market.
I did tons of research before buying and most the guys doing it for a living we’re using Scag and John Deere.

I have a Hustler as well and thought it was a good mower till I bought the Scag. There is no comparison. Of course I am comparing a residential Hustler to a commercial Scag...

Grasshopper. Go drive all of them and decide. I’ve had one since 2007. Over 1k hours.

You didn't mention snapper pro but don't discredit them. I work for the city and run 61 scag cheetahs atleast 3 days a week during mowing season. That said, my 61 snapper pro I own personally will mow circles around the scag. I drove the ones you mentioned and the snapper isn't the smoothest but definitely cuts better than scag.

It was $6250 out the door.
