Following, I have a spur in my shoulder and it’s tiresome to deal with, the shots only last a short time

Go to rehab for sure. You'll be moving your elbow the very first day. Total recovery time, I have no idea.

I have one in my neck and had a shot of cortisone a few weeks ago and it's not perfect but it's a lot better.

I had one removed several years ago. I don’t remember how long the recovery was don’t seem like very long. But I would highly recommend it. I didn’t have any kind of rehab.

I have traction spurs on both elbow. Left is larger. Doc said they didn't need to be removed unless they start hurting. Most are caused from the triceps being too tight. Good stretch is to hold a towel with one hand. Throw towel over head/behind back. Grab towel with other hand and pull down. Hold for 30 sec at a time. Really helps me.

That's what I thought I had way back when was Tennis Elbow .
But e-ray showed a pretty bone spur and I have just put up with it for 3 years now .
Just tired of the pain and need it gone .

Bone spur on the top of my rotator cuff. Cut the tendons everytime I raised my arm Waited to long, Have a "popeye" biceps tendon (cannot be fixed) and now 4 anchors in my left shoulder from surgery on Nov 3. Still not 100% with movement and strength, but have done everything they said to do. Will not try to pull my bow until late May depending on how my shoulder feels.

I had a big one removed last year that was piercing my tricep tendon.

I was in a sling until the nerve block wore off and I regained control of my arm.

I was full range of motion within 7-10 days, they released me after my 2nd PT appointment. Doc told me there was no damage I could do at that point and that pain level would be my guide on what I could do or not.

After that I was normal for day to day activities but it was a couple months before I could do full strength weighted tricep workouts.

Go see orthopedic doc and ask about Tenex procedure. Will help resolve quickly and is non-invasive, as in no cutting, all done through a needle, back in business after a few weeks.

It's a Bell-Horn Brand.. It's the one the Pharmacy Druggist
suggested... About $20.... Worth every penny... That's been
                          about a year ago.... Haven't had a flair-up since.....
The pharmacist did caution me, about making the velcro
straps too tight.... Tight, but comfortable......
After all the medication, and massages, including elec. stimulation
of the tendons, and muscles.... This simple strap, ........made all the difference..
Hope this helps.....It's as painful, as gout.....

I used to have one, years ago, I had a pretty serious dirt bike accident when I was 19. I landed very hard on my left side, the hardest hit was to my left shoulder. Sometime after the accident, a bone spur grew off of my left shoulder. It hurt a lot, if someone hit me on my left shoulder. That bone spur, was growing outwards, it looked like a pimple, but if someone touched it, it was much more painful.
When I was 21, I had another serious dirt bike accident, where I again, landed on my left shoulder. It was just as bad as the first accident. I was very sore for a few days. As the level of pain started to go down some, I realized the bone spur was gone. I kept expecting it to grow back, but it never has.

I don't know how they medically remove bone spurs, I know the way I did it hurt like hell. But I really did not even know I smashed the bone spur, when I wrecked that second time. Those two injuries, have made it very painful to shoot a bow, ever since.

Had surgery to my elbow to remove several spurs & bone fragments from an injury in my youth. I was back to using my arm within a couple of days. No lifting over 10 lbs for couple of weeks and once the incision healed I could do everything I did before surgery. Have it done you will be glad.
