    Strike Eagle 5x25

Anyone here own this? If so, how does it perform in low light? My Leupolds are all awesome in low light and hunting applications. I would like to get something with more magnification for LR and still hunt with it. 75% of my shots are taken before sunrise or after sunset. With 1” tubes, my VX 3i scopes are incredible in low light.

I looked at the reticle in the SE 5x25. I liked it a lot. I’m just really concerned about how it would do in low light. 34mm tube would let a lot of light through, but it is hard to judge the glass inside a retailer.

I have one but never used it in low light. I doubt it is anywhere near as good as a Loophole. It's a very good long range scope and holds zero but not as crystal clear as a VXIII at least for my eyes. In daylight I have no trouble with 12" gongs at 750 yds. on a cloudy hazy day.

Thanks for input muzzlebrake. Anyone in the metro mess okay if I took a look at their scope in low light? Maybe looking through it in a yard in the evening?

One thing to know is tube size has near zero effect on light transmission. Exit pupil is the single biggest factor for light transmission followed by glass and coatings quality.

I don’t have that exact Strike Eagle but the one I do have is not stellar. It’s one of their low tier models and won’t look as good as your VX-3i (IMO and experience).

Cyclops on YouTube has been trying to review one for almost a year. Hasn’t been able to get one yet that didn’t have problems.
