    Parallax or not

In the market for a new scope and can not decided if I want/need for parallax adjustment. 90% of my shooting will be inside of 200yds shooting from rest or from the blind with a max of 500yds. Ends up being the difference of about $400 on the scope i have picked out. Any opinions from the GS?

Get it. Better to have it and not use it then need it and not have it. A lease member missed a bobcat at 20 yards and couldn't understand why.

You know in 59 years of hunting and shooting I've never had a scope with parallax adjustment and never needed/missed it. $400 Is a lot of money to me.

Honestly, in your situation, I'd save the money. I really don't know how much of a difference it'll make for 90% of your situations.

If you were regularly hunting/target shooting out at distance, it's nearly a must. I don't own a pure hunting scope with parallax, and I don't feel like I'm missing anything at all.

Any scope under 12x probably not needed. After that you will see benefit on higher magnification settings.

If it doesn't have it, it usually means that it's fixed at 100 yards. If you understand that and have a consistent cheek weld, you don't have to have it.

I've had the adjustable objective scopes and they work good for target shootin, I personally didn't like them on my hunting scopes. Like stated before you don't need it on anything under 12x at normal huntjng ranges. I've been toting a rifle with a 4x fixed power and feel confident with it to 300 yds or so.

I can't remember if this is correct or not but I think leupold scopes without a parallax adjustment are set at 200 yds for parallax. Might have to check on that though.
