Looking at using a saddle up at Harrgerman this year. Is it comfortable for an all day sit? Is climbing with the SRT system easy enough with my bad back or would climbing sticks be better?
I will take my saddle to Hagerman and my lock-on. Depending on what tree I hunt will determine what option I use. I'm still new to the saddle game put have been using in AR on all my public land hunts. There is definetly such a thing as being in saddle shape. Hopefully by Segment C I will be in saddle shape. I aslo prefer using sticks. I purchased 5 beast sticks over the summer and they are very nice, they are not cheap but I looked at it as an investment.

I hope you received the pm I sent you a while back. I wasn’t sure if it went through. I hope it helped.
I'll be hunting from a saddle. I'm a climbing stick type of guy. I can sit all day in mine just fine. My only issue is I fidget and move more than in a stand. But I'm the first to say it isn't near as comfortable as my Millenniums. But I'll sacrifice a little comfort for ease of mobility.
I have been hunting out of one here recently. I sit down in mine 95% of the time and highly recommend a recliner mine is made by Tethrd but im sure there are some other brands. It gives you support high in your back and will help with an all day sit. Another thing im about to make to make it more comfortable is something to pad your knees from the tree.
SRT and DRT take LOTS of practice. I would recommend sticks. I’ve been in a saddle for 6 or 7 years now, and still can’t get comfortable with SRT, though I try again ever couple of years.
If you have back problems I wouldn't recommend it. Puts a strain on your lower back and legs especially if you're not in fairly good physical shape and getting older--like we are.

All day in the saddle no problem... SRT not practical. Takes lots of experience and agility plus you'll be in the dark on morning hunt. You're not going to learn that in time for your hunt. If your not already comfortable in the saddle and perch you better get busy!
